Syrian rebels continue their attacks. On Saturday, they announced their next occupation territories, saying they were 20 kilometers from the southern outskirts of the capital, Damascus. Bashar al-Assad's army left large parts of the south of the country and left more areas under the control of opposition forces.
While reporting on the successes of the rebel forces, Reuters cited two representatives of the forces and an officer of the Bashar al-Assad regime who confirmed the withdrawal of al-Qunatir from the city.
The commander of the rebels, Hassan Abdul Ghani, announced the capture of the city of As-Sanamain in the south of the country. He emphasized that the rebel forces are 20 kilometers away from the southern outskirts of Damascus.

The Syrian army is retreating in the south of the country
The Associated Press reported that the Syrian army withdrew from parts of the south of the country on Saturday, leaving more areas, including two regional centers, under the control of the rebels.
Regime soldiers left Dara and Sweida provinces. The army of the Bashar al-Assad regime has mobilized large forces to defend the key city of Homs in the west of the country. On Friday evening, the Syrian rebels announced that they had reached its borders.
As part of the campaign, which has been going on for more than a week, the rebels have already taken prisoners, including: the second largest city of the country, Aleppo, and Hama, which has about half a million inhabitants.
The current fighting is the most serious conflict in Syria since 2020, the frontline of the civil war that has been ongoing since 2011.
