The benefits of vocational, magnet and professional training in high school are quickly made clear in U.S. News & World Report’s list of the top high schools in the country: The top 10 schools in the state all fit that description.
The list, released this week, looked at nearly 25,000 schools across the nation and ranked 406 schools in New Jersey.
Let's take a look at the top 10, eight of which are ranked in the top 100 nationally.
High Technology (Lincroft, Monmouth): #24 nationally. Edison Academy Magnet School (Edison, Middlesex): #42 nationally. Middlesex County Allied Health Academy (Woodbridge, Middlesex): #58 nationally. Bergen County Academy (Hackensack, Bergen): #62 nationally. Biotechnology High (Freehold, Monmouth): #72 nationally. McNair High (Jersey City, Hudson): #79 nationally. Bergen County Tech (Teterboro, Bergen): #90 nationally. Union County Magnet (Scotch Plains, Union): #95 nationally. Academy for Information Technology (Scotch Plains, Union): #111 nationally. Academy for Allied Health Sciences (Scotch Plains, Union): #193 nationally.
