The Polish Tire Industry Association reported that tire companies will have to close their factories if the amendment to the regulation on air temperature in the workplace comes into force. Industry representatives predict that Poland will become a country where some technological processes cannot take place.
The Ministry of Labor has submitted a draft regulation for consultation, in which employers are obliged to temporarily stop work if, despite the use of technical solutions, the temperature in the workplace exceeds 35°C and when working outside exceeds 32°C, and if outside it is necessary to work, the temporary suspension of work only applies to heavy physical work.

“We understand the need to regulate the issue of temperature in the workplace and the scope of protection of employees in this context, but the proposed regulations, if not changed, will lead to the closure of factories producing tires and rubber products and their relocation to other countries. in Europe, as well as stop ongoing investment negotiations.” – says PZPO.

PZPO believes that the proposal to set the maximum operating temperature at 35 degrees is too far.
“Especially in the industry of tires and rubber products, as well as in metallurgy and the mining industry, such a strict standard leads to closure of workplaces,” it is written.
