Tesla's head of business development for the Semi program said the company is “taking steps to bring the Semi to Europe” after the company posted job openings for the same position in the European market.
The Tesla Semi is being gradually rolled out to a small number of select customers in the United States, but has not yet reached any international markets.
Still, Tesla has hinted in the past that the Semi will eventually be used for transportation and commercial purposes in other markets. In February, CEO Elon Musk even said the truck would be built at the company's Gigafactory in Berlin.
“We think it makes sense to produce semi-trucks in Europe, at Giga Berlin.”

However, there was no real, hard evidence to back this up until recently, when Tesla posted a job ad suggesting that the Semi might actually be coming to Europe.
According to Tesla's careers website, the company is currently hiring for a “Head of Semi-Truck Business Development, EMEA (Amsterdam or Berlin),” an individual who will be responsible for bringing Class 8 all-electric trucks to continental Europe.
“Tesla is seeking a Business Development Manager in Europe to build/maintain customer relationships and plan Tesla's future Semi-truck deployment. This person will meet regularly with potential European Semi-truck customers to understand their use cases, needs, and duty cycles.”
Additionally, Graham Carroll, head of business development for the Semi in the US, confirmed that Tesla plans to bring the vehicle to Europe and has already taken the first steps towards that goal.
“We're preparing to bring Tesla Semi to Europe and are looking for someone with industry experience in electrification to help us develop this exciting new market. This is a groundbreaking product that meaningfully advances Tesla's mission, and the team behind it is world class. The big splash is about to begin.”
All-electric commercial transportation is becoming increasingly important in today's world, and Tesla isn't the only company offering it – Volvo is just one of several companies offering battery-electric Class 8 vehicles.
Tesla believes the Semi is truly in a class of its own, and with plans now to expand the vehicle to Europe, it will be interesting to see how the company can fare in terms of performance in new markets.
