3. Statements of ministers after the tragedy in Siedlce
The Minister of Health and the Minister of the Interior issued a joint statement that a paramedic died on Saturday after being attacked with a knife by a man who had called an ambulance. The tragedy happened in Siedlce.
Among other things, they declare that “they take strict measures to increase the protection of medical services and to ensure the effectiveness of the prosecution of crimes against rescuers.”
4. “No-election” in Belarus. The first results
Sunday was the actual voting day in the presidential “election” organized by the Belarusian regime. Referring to the results of the exit poll, local media reported that Alexander Lukashenko, who has been ruling the country for 31 years, won 87.6 percent of the vote. The opposition of Belarus and the West do not consider this vote to be democratic.

Italian Yannick Sinner has won the Australian Open for the second time in a row. In the deciding match in Melbourne, he defeated Germany’s Alexander Zverev 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3.
