The Lake Mary All-Stars are one loss away from being eliminated from the Little League Baseball World Series. The All-Stars were held to one run in a 4-1 loss to Vaughn, Texas, in the Southwest Division on Monday night in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The All-Stars took an early lead in the top of the first inning when DeMarcos Mises doubled on a grounder to left field and JJ Feliciano scored. Texas tied the game in the bottom of the first inning after Cooper Hastings singled on a liner to right field and Gray Collins scored. Feliciano struck out six in 2 1/3 innings before being replaced by Luis Caro in the bottom of the third. However, Caro gave up two straight runs in the same inning to Texas, leading 3-1, and was soon replaced by Jacob Bibeau. If the All-Stars lose, they will be eliminated from the Little League World Series. A win would see their campaign continue in Williamsport. The final game is scheduled for Sunday. The All-Stars took an early lead in the top of the first inning when DeMarcos Mises hit a grounder to left field for a double, scoring JJ Feliciano.
Gray Collins tied the score for Texas in the bottom of the first after Cooper Hastings singled with a liner to right field.
Feliciano struck out six over 2 1/3 innings before being replaced in the bottom of the third by Luis Caro, who gave up two straight runs in the inning to give Texas a 3-1 lead and was quickly replaced by Jacob Bibeau.
Lake Mary next faces a loss on Tuesday against New York State South Shore.
If the All-Stars lose, they're out of the Little League World Series. If they win, the campaign continues in Williamsport.
The final is scheduled for Sunday.
