American aircraft manufacturer Boeing plans to lay off about 400 workers in the state of Washington in the near future, Reuters reported on Monday, citing information from the Department of Employment Security.
It's part of a layoff plan totaling 17,000 jobs across Boeing, or about 10 percent of the entire workforce, that the company announced in October after negotiations stalled for nearly a month. The board also decided to delay the first delivery of the 777X by one year. The loss of the company in the third quarter was 5 billion dollars.

“The company regulates the level of employment”
The company is reducing staffing levels to reflect “financial realities and a more focused set of priorities,” Boeing said in a request to Reuters.
In November, Boeing announced more than 2,500 layoffs in Washington, Oregon, South Carolina and Missouri. As Reuters explains, the state of Washington suffered the most from the cuts because it has the most workers, more than 60,000 people.
