A statue of freedom. The gift of the French nation for America
Americans received a statue of freedom as a gift from the French state in 1886. The construction of the enormous monument lasted for two years. Neoclassical sculptures are located at the mouth of the Hudson River in New York.
The statue of freedom commemorates the cooperation of the two countries during the American Revolutionary War from 1775 to 1783. In 1984, the famous sculpture was engraved on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The monument itself features the shape of a woman holding a torch in her right hand. Then there was a plaque on the left hand, with the date of independence by the United States written on it.
