The spokesperson of the Warsaw district court told TVN24 that the court agrees to issue a European arrest warrant against PiS MP Marcin Romanovsky. Romanovsky was wanted since last Thursday on the basis of an arrest warrant.
Last week, the Warsaw Mokotow district court decided on the three-month arrest of PiS MP and former Deputy Minister of Justice Marcin Romanovsky. The representative did not appear at the court session. On December 12, the investigating prosecutor ordered the arrest of a lawyer suspected of investigating the Justice Fund.
European Arrest Warrant for Marcin Romanovsky
On Thursday, after 14:00, information appeared on the website of the Warsaw District Court that “On December 19, 2024, the Warsaw District Court issued a European arrest warrant against Marcin Romanowski.”
The National Prosecutor's Office requested the EAW because it has information that the PiS MP has crossed the border and is in one of the EU countries.

EAW and Interpol Red Notice
Investigators have also asked the national office of Interpol to issue a red notice in the case of the former deputy minister of justice. The spokesman of the National Prosecutor's Office, prosecutor Przemyslav Novak, reported that the application for the so-called. A red Interpol notice “posted at Interpol Headquarters”. – Here this work is done without our participation, so we are not informed about any date. We only know about Interpol's decision and we don't have any such information yet. The experience is that it should last from several days to several weeks, – explained the representative of PKH.
He explained that the EAW and the Interpol red alert allow Polish services to go “beyond Polish borders”. – At this moment, even if we knew that Marcin Romanovsky was abroad, the officers of this service could not arrest him, – he said.
According to the prosecutor's office, on December 6, Marcin Romanovsky was discharged from the medical facility, where he underwent a planned medical treatment. Since that day, the deputy has registered his phones with his personal information. His whereabouts are unknown.
