This is arguably the most spectacular European cruise ever.
Small ship company Windstar Cruises has announced an ambitious new European route through to 2026, calling at 67 destinations in 20 countries.
The voyage, called the Grand European Adventure, will last an unprecedented 81 days, more than 10 times longer than the Windstar voyage.

Prices are also significantly higher than Windstar Cruises' regular rates, starting at $31,099 per person.
For that price, travellers looking to fulfill a bucket list (and have plenty of time on their hands) can see many of the most famous destinations and sights across Europe, from the fjords of Norway to the ancient ruins of Greece, all in one trip.
The nine-day voyage around the Baltic Sea will depart from Helsinki on July 14, 2026 aboard Windstar's 312-passenger Star Legend ship, with ports of call including Tallinn in Estonia, Stockholm (where the ship will stay overnight), Riga and Ventspils in Latvia, Gdansk in Poland, and Copenhagen and Bornholm in Denmark.

The highlight of the next part of the trip will be an unusual three-day visit to Rouen, the famous cathedral town in Northern France that was the subject of a painting by Claude Monet. Star Legend will also stop in Bordeaux, France, for four full days to explore the town and surrounding wineries.
This trip will also include longer stays in the Spanish cities of Bilbao, Seville and Lisbon.
Other ports of call in Spain include Malaga, Cartagena, Valencia and Barcelona.
The final three weeks of the trip will see stops along the southern coast of France, Monaco, Italy and Greece.

In Italy alone, the ship will stop at six destinations: Portofino, Portoferraio, Porto Ercole, Civitavecchia (the port of Rome), Sorrento and Messina.
A visit to Kusadasi in Turkey, gateway to the archaeological site of Ephesus, is also planned.
Windstar is offering just one departure on the new itinerary. The voyage is one of 15 all-new European routes the company has announced for 2026 as it refreshes its deployment in the region. This is the most number of European routes Windstar has announced in a single season to date.
The voyage will also visit more new ports (34 in total) than the route has ever visited for the first time in a single season to date.
The new routes are announced as Windstar prepares to add two new ships to its fleet by the end of 2026, marking a major expansion for the brand, which currently operates six ships.
