When I read these terrible writings addressed to you, my heart breaks with fear, – wrote the head of the big charity orchestra Yurek Owsiak. He addressed Gdańsk president Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, who had received threats against him on the Internet, including a reference to the stabbing death of former Gdańsk president Pawel Adamowicz during the Grand Orchestra finale. Christmas donation six years ago.
On Thursday, the mayor of Gdansk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, published an entry in which she provided screenshots of the threats she had received in one of her online posts. One netizen commented: “I stabbed him at the Great Christmas Charity Orchestra. Should be punished.” In another comment, he added: “They can tell me with an ax that thieves should be punished (…)”.
In his entry, Dulkiewicz referred to the stabbing of Pavel Adamowicz, which took place on January 13, 2019, during the WOŚP city final at Targ Weglowi in Gdańsk, and asked “if the events of 6 years ago have taught us anything.” A day after the attack, Adamovich died in the hospital. His killer was sentenced to life imprisonment last year.
“Someone wants me dead today too. How much longer? Does another hate campaign have to end with someone dying before we finally say ‘enough’?” – asked the president. He noted that as a public figure, he knows how to deal with hate, but it also affects his family.

Ovsiak about “sick hatred” for Dulkevich
On Saturday, WOŚP leader Jurek Owsiak posted a post on Facebook, the content of which was addressed to Dulkiewicz. “We are horrified that such threats may come true. We are even more horrified that these threats may already be realized.”
Owsiak assured in the entry that he and his wife can come to Dulkevich anytime and “hug her and her daughter” as well as ensure their safety. “Just say the word and we’ll be there for you,” he wrote.
The head of WOŚP noted that Dulkiewicz is one of thousands, maybe even millions of people who participate in the work that the Foundation does voluntarily. “Because they want to. Because they enjoy participating in the whole project,” he noted.
“I want to write to you, and perhaps to anyone who may be offended by this, that while I respect and even love you with all my might for your desire to form an orchestra, I must not expose you, that even the smallest bad word, the smallest pain, a little insult, and especially you, Ola, who from the very beginning, when you became the mayor of Gdańsk, not only faced criticism, but understanding and a part it is the construction of a democratic society, but with sick hatred,” he wrote.
At the end of this article, he added that “if the language of the media, like the one used by Telewizja Republika, spreads hatred, we not only do not understand it, we do not agree with it.”
