The two events will be held simultaneously from September 4 to 6 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.
The exhibition is expected to bring together over 7,000 manufacturers, traders and buyers, helping businesses discover potential suppliers, gain industry insights and solutions, and introduce technologies to enhance production lines to meet the future demand for sustainable energy in the Asia-Pacific region.
Electric and Power Vietnam and HVACR Vietnam are the leading exhibitions for power, renewable energy and HVAC technologies in Vietnam.
The Asia-Pacific region is experiencing active development of renewable energy projects as a result of the cost-competitiveness of different technologies and government efforts to clean up countries' power generation mix.
According to a report by DNV, one of the world's leading certification organizations, renewable energy generation in the Asia-Pacific region is expected to increase by 47 percent between 2021 and 2030, and the introduction of energy storage systems (ESS) is being evaluated as a potential solution in this area.
The Asia Pacific energy storage market is expected to reach $75.56 billion by 2032, registering a CAGR of 14.2% during the forecast period.
This prominent niche market is growing due to rising demand for power backup as well as concerns over security of supply.
Against this backdrop, Informa Markets, a UK-headquartered global trade exhibition organizer, will return to Ho Chi Minh City from September 4 to 6 with Electric and Power Vietnam 2024 and HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration) Vietnam 2024.
These important events will take place on an exhibition area of 8,800 square metres.
The two events will feature over 350 exhibitors from over 15 major technology countries and regions, including China, Czech Republic, Germany, Hong Kong (China), India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan (China), Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam and Turks and Caicos Islands.
The 2024 edition is set to showcase a host of cutting-edge renewable energy technologies
Electric and Power Vietnam is a biennial trade event held in Ho Chi Minh City. Its parallel event, HVACR Vietnam, held annually alternating between the north and south, is one of the industry's leading exhibitions.
This year, more than 7,000 industry professionals are expected to attend the events, which will feature a range of activities designed to enrich the experience of exhibitors and visitors alike.
The event will include international conferences and specialized seminars on topics such as the transition to renewable energies, data centers and advanced cooling solutions, as well as a business networking program and a VR technology experience zone.
The series programme is a collaboration between Informa Markets and renowned global and Vietnamese organisations, including Asia Pacific City Energy Association, Vietnam Internet Association, Vietnam Cloud Computing and Data Centre Club, Viettel IDC and Vietnam Association of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers.
These collaborations will enable participants to stay up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices, making this an unmissable opportunity for companies operating in Vietnam and the region.
Electricity & Power Vietnam 2024 and HVACR Vietnam 2024 will feature many insightful seminars on renewable energy and sustainable HVAC technologies.
“We have known about the Electric and Power event for over five years now, and this is our first time participating in the show, so we are really excited,” said Ts. Lim Sai Soeng, executive director of QAV Test Technologies (KL) Sdn. Bhd.
“I come from Malaysia and want to expand my market to Vietnam. At this exhibition, we found many visitors who could be our potential customers. I plan to set up my company in the next six months, so I will definitely be here in two years.”
Meanwhile, HVACR Vietnam has been serving as a trusted business physical platform for over 15 years.
Kumdo Jambu, vice president of energy for Southeast Asia, said of HVACR Vietnam: “This is a great platform for us to introduce our innovative products and solutions to many potential customers and help them save energy in the process. It is also a good place to meet potential distributors and promote our green image in the country.”
Under its first national renewable energy development strategy, Vietnam aims to get more than 32 percent of its generating capacity from a combination of solar (19-20 GW), wind (18-19 GW) and biomass by 2030.
Added to this, there will be an increasing need to improve IT and communications infrastructure to accommodate the expansion of the electricity grid, along with the development of decentralized power plants.
As a member of ASEAN, ESS opportunities in Asia are likely to be promoted in the medium to long term under the ASEAN Plan of Action and the second phase of energy cooperation (2021-2025).
Vietnam, in particular, is considering applying Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to renewable energy projects to address solar power redundancy during peak hours, as evidenced by the Prime Minister's policy to install 300MW BESS systems by 2030.
In May, Vietnam's first grid-tied battery storage system was deployed in the southern province of Khanh Hoa, integrated by AMI AC Renewables in collaboration with global technology giant Honeywell, featuring a 15 MW, 7.5 MWh short-term BESS. These developments signal important trends for the future of the power industry in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
As part of COP28's “Cooling the Planet Pledge,” Vietnam is fast-tracking policies and incentives to cut energy consumption and curb greenhouse gas emissions.
According to a report by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, some 563 industrial parks are planned in 61 of Vietnam's 63 regions by mid-2023, of which 397 have already been built and 292 are operational.
In this context, implementing sustainable HVAC systems that increase the energy efficiency of large buildings is not just a trend, but a critical move towards achieving environmental goals and promoting sustainability.
