CHICAGO – July 16, 2024 – U.S. News & World Report once again recognized Northwestern Medicine Hospital in its annual Best Hospitals rankings. For the 13th consecutive year, Northwestern Memorial Hospital has been named to the Best Hospitals Honor Roll, a collection of hospitals selected from across the nation for outstanding performance across specialties, procedures and medical conditions. Additionally, Northwestern Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in Illinois and one of only nine hospitals in the United States to be recognized as “high performing” in all 20 procedure and medical condition rankings.

Below are highlights of Northwestern Medicine hospitals in the 2024-25 U.S. News Best Hospitals rankings.
In addition to maintaining its position on the Best Hospitals Honor Roll, Northwestern Memorial Hospital is designated #1 (tie) in the Chicago metropolitan area and in the state of Illinois. Northwestern Memorial Hospital also received national rankings in 11 specialties: Cancer (#20), Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery (#7), Diabetes and Endocrinology (#8), Otolaryngology (#16), Gastroenterology and GI Surgery (#10-tie), Geriatrics (#11), Neurology and Neurosurgery (#11), Obstetrics and Gynecology (#9), Orthopedics (#11), Pulmonology and Pulmonary Surgery (#12-tie), and Urology (#12-tie). The hospital is the only one in Illinois and one of nine hospitals in the nation to be recognized as “high performing” in all 20 procedures and conditions. Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital is tied for #8 in both Illinois and the Chicago metropolitan area. The hospital is nationally ranked in three specialties and has been designated “high performing” in four specialties: Geriatrics (#47), Neurology and Neurosurgery (tied for #34), Pulmonary and Pulmonary Surgery (#50), Diabetes and Endocrinology, Gastroenterology and GI Surgery, Orthopedics, and Urology. The hospital has been recognized as “high performing” in five procedures and conditions. Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital is ranked #7 in both Illinois and the Chicago metropolitan area. Central DuPage has been designated “high performing” in five specialties: Cardiology, Cardiovascular Surgery, Geriatrics, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, and Pulmonary and Pulmonary Surgery. The hospital is recognized as “high performing” in 13 procedures and conditions. Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital, Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital, and Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital are collectively ranked 13th (tie) in Illinois and 12th in the Chicago metropolitan area. The hospitals are designated “high performing” in two specialties: Pulmonary and Lung Surgery and Urology. The hospitals are recognized as “high performing” in nine procedures and conditions. Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital is tied for 15th in Illinois and tied for 13th in the Chicago metropolitan area. Palos Hospital is recognized as “high performing” in nine procedures and conditions. Northwestern Medicine Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital is ranked 45th (tie) nationally in Rehabilitation by U.S. News & World Report. Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital has been recognized as “high performing” in four procedures and conditions. Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital has been recognized as “high performing” in one procedure and condition.
