War in Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelensky meets with Donald Tusk
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced the start of cooperation between the ministries of culture of Poland and Ukraine. “They are collaborating on historical issues, there are meetings, collaboration has begun and we are making progress here,” he declared.
The leader said he and Donald Tusk discussed the current situation both on the battlefield and in diplomacy. He pointed out that his country needs a stable and just peace and support. “We don't just need a break, we need a strong and common position of our partners, real peace,” he insisted.
Zelenskiy has hinted that he is pinning his hopes on Poland becoming president of the EU Council next year. “This could be very beneficial for us in terms of getting closer to the EU,” he said.
He also expressed gratitude for Poland's support in Ukraine's quest for NATO membership. “Poland understands how important it is to guarantee security in our European region,” said the President of Ukraine.
Donald Tusk: “Let's stop speculating about Ukraine's defeat''
– Stop speculating about the possible defeat of Ukraine in any capital of the world. It has nothing to do with facts. Ukraine is effectively defending itself from Russian attack, despite some doomsayers, but no one gave it a chance at the beginning of the war, Donald Tusk said during his speech called out.
Polish government leaders appealed to Western countries for even stronger support for Kiev. “We cannot hesitate here,” he insisted, noting that support for Ukraine is now more important than ever.
Donald Tusk has indicated that he intends to persuade EU and NATO leaders not to “walk away” from their positions on the Ukraine war even before negotiations take place.
– Wars don't usually end in a draw, and someone usually wins in a war. Someone has to give in. I very much want to and will push this forward in Europe and NATO so that it becomes a common view among all of us that Ukraine has no reason to make concessions. Ukraine is a victim of attacks. The Polish government leader said the Russian government should reflect.
– Here we would like to send especially warm words to those countries that so far have not shown much commitment in supporting Ukraine. I want everyone in the West to know that this war is really black and white, because this truth is so deeply rooted in our history. This is truly a showdown between good and evil, Tusk declared, and all means must be used to prevent evil from winning.

The Prime Minister emphasized that during his meeting with the President of Ukraine, not only the geopolitical situation and the war were discussed, but also the friendly relations between Poland and Ukraine and bilateral relations.
– Our history is complex, beautiful and full of ups and downs when it comes to the relationship between our nations, but it is the two nations that, in trying moments, have proven to be nations that understand such things. This is the history of This is a historic moment with the Russian attack, Tusk said.
Poland and Ukraine are united not only by “common political interests but also by a deep sense of justice,” the Polish head of government said. He also expressed his gratitude to the heroes of Ukraine.
– Count on us. We can't give everything, and in a sense, we're on the cutting edge. Donald Tusk argued that Poland is increasingly becoming the subject of acts of sabotage, sabotage and hybrid acts aimed directly at the people and the state.
He also pointed out that Ukraine can look forward to support in its quest to join NATO. – If it depends on Poland, it will take less than a day, – he said.
Donald Tusk also touched on historical issues and the excavation of victims of the Volhynian Massacre. He thanked Mr. Zelenskiy for understanding how important this is to a large part of the Polish population.
– I'm glad to see this progress being made clear. The Polish people are waiting for the decision to excavate, but the Polish people also understand the situation today. Therefore, we would also like to have a frank discussion, especially if it turns out that there are no formal obstacles (…) Thank you Prime Minister told the President of Ukraine that “even if it is not the easiest problem My personal understanding is that there are issues that need to be addressed.”
