“Lunch is for weaklings,” the politician said in an interview with the weekly magazine Spectator. – I buy food, I work and eat at the same time, sometimes I eat steak – she said. She also said, “If the bread is wet, I don't touch it.”
Prime Minister Keir Starmer's press secretary commented on Mr Badenoch's words.
“I think he was surprised to hear that the opposition leader had steak for lunch,” he said, adding that Strummer was “perfectly satisfied with the sandwich.” In Strummer's opinion, the sandwich is “a great British institution”.
“He likes tuna sandwiches and sometimes cheese toast,” said a spokesman for the British prime minister.

Badenoch did not remain indebted and was quick to comment on Strummer's remarks. “The Prime Minister has time to answer my jokes about lunch, but he doesn't have time to think about the farmers who produce our food,” she wrote on social media.
Media related to “Food Fight”
The leader of the Eurosceptic Reform UK party also took part in what British media are calling a mutual insult between leading politicians in a “food fight”.
In a video shared online, Nigel Farage, known for his sumptuous lunches, said he thought his meal was “really good” as he drank red wine at a restaurant table.
During the controversy, BBC News recalled that Mr Badenoch's predecessor, Conservative Party leader Rishi Sunak, became the butt of a joke after announcing on the show that his favorite meal was a sandwich.
Similarly, former Labor Party leader Ed Miliband was ridiculed a few years ago in connection with a famous photo of the politician eating a bacon sandwich. Some say the photo was responsible for Mr Miliband's party's defeat in the 2015 general election and should have ruined his chances in the race for the prime ministership.
