The incident occurred on April 10th after 3pm local time. The helicopter crashed on the Hudson River near lower Manhattan in New York.
New York Mayor Eric Adams confirmed that all six on board had been killed – three adults and three children.

In connection with the accident, emergency services flocked to the Westside Highway and Spring Street, and traffic restrictions were introduced.
The New York Firefighters told People’s Magazine that a disaster had occurred on the New Jersey side.
Witnesses of the incident reported that the helicopter first broke in the air, losing its tail and propeller, then collapsed into the river.
– Lots of smoke came out. The helicopter spins very quickly and slams the water really hard – one woman said.
The Coast Guard, which took part in the rescue operation, said traffic on the area close to the incident was completely stopped and the services had established a security zone.
At the time of the event, the New York sky was covered in clouds, but visibility was not restricted. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has identified the helicopter as a Bell 206.

In recent years, there have been many disasters in the United States, including the 2009 airplane collision with a tourist helicopter on the Hudson River, killing nine people and a charter helicopter disaster, falling into the East River in 2018, killing five people.
Seven people died in January after a medical plane fell in one of the Philadelphia areas. It happened just two days after an American Airlines aircraft and a military helicopter collided in the air in Washington.
