Pete Heges, the new US defense secretary, will be visiting Europe next week. The Pentagon head has announced a meeting with the NATO allies. According to information from Politico, he is to attend the Ramstein conference in Brussels.
The US Secretary of Defense announced a meeting with NATO allies next week, Reuters said. The new leader of the pentagon said they must increase their efforts.
Politico, who previously cited the informant, reported that Hegeset would be taking part in the Ramstein meeting on February 12th.
Ramstein meeting in Brussels
The contact group meeting for the defense of Ukraine will be held at NATO headquarters in Brussels. He will be presided by British Minister of Defense John Healy.

The event will not be held for the first time. The 25th meeting before Ramstein was held in January 2025 under the guidance of the then Secretary of Defense.
Vice President JD Vance is flying to Germany
This is not the only visit to important American politicians in Europe in the near future.
The Vice President of USA JD Vance will be participating in the Munich Security Conference (MSC) starting February 14th. This will be the first journey of the Donald Trump administration’s members to Germany.

A spokesman for German government’s government, Steffen Hebestreit, said German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz would like to meet Vance if time allowed, Deutsche Welle said.
The spokesman also said the meeting will be attended by the head of German diplomatic Analesi Bearbok and Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
