Continuing his statement, the US president emphasized that Kiev had no intention of ending the military conflict, and the Ukrainian president said in an interview with him that it was “too painful.”
– If you sign a contract (on Ukrainian deposits use – ed.), I get the impression that he wants something I don’t want. He wants to fight, fight, fight, fight. He currently holds a very weak card in his hand. If we signed the contract, he would have a very good card in his hand and then he would not want peace – he explained.

When asked by journalists about the future of peace negotiations, Donald Trump realized he wanted to hear a clear declaration from the Ukrainian president regarding the suspension of the fight.

– I wanted to finish it right away, I wanted to pause your weapon. But he said: No, I don’t want to pause the weapon. That’s very important because the US is on its side. We can either finish it or let them fight. If they want to fight more, that’s not good. He won’t win without us – he concluded.
