Commenting on Justin Trudeau’s decision to resign from the post of Liberal Party leader and prime minister, Donald Trump said that many people in Canada want it to become the 51st state of America. He added that the United States and Canada together would make a great country and that taxes would go down because tariffs would disappear.
“Many people in Canada love it as the 51st state (USA – ed.). The United States can no longer suffer from the huge trade deficit and subsidies that Canada has to continue. Justin Trudeau knew this and resigned. Trump wrote. on Truth Social.
“If Canada were to unite with the US, there would be no tariffs, taxes would be greatly reduced, and Canadians would be completely safe from the threat of Russian and Chinese ships constantly besieging them. Together, what a great nation it would be!” Trump wrote.

Trump is in favor of creating an “economic union” with Canada
Donald Trump commented on Justin Trudeau’s announcement on Monday about his decision to resign from the post of Liberal Party leader and Prime Minister. This was another Trump statement calling for a US takeover of Canada.

Trump was supposed to discuss the creation of an “economic union” with the US with a Canadian investor who appeared on the reality show Shark Tank, Kevin O’Leary.
However, such a scenario does not enjoy widespread support among Canadians. According to a poll conducted by the Angus Reed Institute in December, 5 percent of respondents are in favor of joining the United States.
