Vacations in the Maldives are even more expensive. Authorities are raising exit taxes
The Maldives is considered one of the most expensive vacation destinations in the world. Soon, a stay in the tropical paradise of the Indian Ocean will become even more expensive. From December 1, prices for tourists leaving the exotic island nation will increase by up to four times.
Maldives exit tax must be paid by all non-Maldives nationals, regardless of age or country of origin. The length of the trip does not matter when determining the price. This means travelers will pay the same price for a four-hour flight to Delhi and an 11-hour flight to London.

The higher the price, the better the options for air travel. From 1 December, economy class passengers departing from the Maldives will pay $50 (approximately PLN 200, previously $30), Business Class for $120 (approximately PLN 490, previously $60), and First Class for $240 (approximately PLN 490, previously $60).
