The meeting of the Deputy Minister of Justice with the managers of district educational centers was held on Thursday, December 5. This is the result of the incident in the second half of November in the Educational Center of the Erzmanice-Zdroj district (Lower Silesia) where one of the students attempted suicide after being beaten by his teacher. The 13-year-old is fighting for his life in the hospital and is now in a coma.
Another employee of this center has also been accused of ill-treatment of another patient.
– We understand that the last few days have been very stressful for the employees of the Erzmanice center and for everyone. I know how much the community is affected by this and it is completely understandable. OPERATIONS AND CHANGES IN THE SYSTEM (INFORMAL) • District educational centers cannot be a universal institution for children with problems; family judges refer minors who have to stay in medical institutions due to their disability or disability. The issue requires a deep analysis. • Temporary stay of minors in educational centers – faster speed of court work is necessary. • The decision to place minors in a group under high supervision or a permanent group in a juvenile shelter must be made by the director after an examination. The court is currently making a decision on this matter. • Fulfilling the obligation of the head of the district court to convene meetings with the participation of family judges and managers of institutions. • Exemption of diagnostic groups from work in front of graduates (adult students outside of school responsibilities).
