“The geopolitical struggles in the Arctic have simply intensified,” the Russian president said in the context of Donald Trump’s announcement regarding the need for the US to take over Greenland.
Putin also emphasized that the US intentions for Danish autonomous territory are “serious” and “has deep historical roots.”

The Russian leader is taking part in the 6th Arctic Forum, which is held under the name “Arctic – Territories of Dialogue.” The event will be held at Murmus, who Putin himself describes as “the Russian gate to the Arctic.” In his speech, he argued that before Russia there had been a major task before Russia regarding strengthening infrastructure and ecosystem protection in the Russian region.
Putin noted that the Kremlin is discussing ideas for strategic development in the Arctic. He ensured that the urban environment needs to be improved and the quality of life for those living in the area.
The president said Russia would see an increase in the number of soldiers entrusted to defend its interests to the Arctic and protect its territory. “We are afraid that NATO is looking at the northern foothold for possible conflict,” he said.

He determined that the Kremlin would not allow Russian sovereignty to violate, protect national interests and “maintain peace and stability in the Arctic.” At the same time, Putin pointed out that his country is open to working with foreigners, including the West, to create local businesses.

“I look forward to visiting Greenland,” wrote a social media politician. A short video has been added to his post. On the recording, Americans say they “check the safety” of the island.
