Ukrainian drones attacked an ammunition factory in central Russia, an official with Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) told Reuters on Saturday. The attack on the Aleksinsky chemical plant, which produces gunpowder, ammunition and weapons, is part of a strategy to attack factories supporting Russia in its war with Ukraine.
“Attacks on weapons depots, military airports, and companies that are part of the Russian military-industrial complex will reduce Russia's ability to terrorize our country,” an SBU official said.
The source did not say exactly what damage the impact caused to the Alexinsky plant. Meanwhile, propaganda news agency TASS reported, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense, that the Russian military shot down 50 Ukrainian-made drones in seven regions of the country during the night.

War in Ukraine. Defensive Kyiv
Reuters reminded that as the war with Russia approaches its 1000th day, Ukraine is on the defensive on the battlefield against a larger and better equipped enemy. Russian forces are advancing steadily in the eastern region of Donetsk, breaking through Ukraine's defense lines and destroying towns and villages with guided aerial bombs and artillery.
Ukraine's General Staff reported on Saturday that the situation on the front was complex, with more than 170 clashes occurring within 24 hours, most of them in the east. Ukrainian officials say attacks on Russian military facilities, warehouses and airports would disrupt logistics and supplies for Moscow's forces and help turn the situation in Ukraine's favor.

Since September, Ukraine has announced that it has used long-range drones to attack multiple Russian ammunition depots.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has repeatedly called on Western allies to provide longer-range missiles and lift restrictions on their use to strike targets deep in Russia.
