Russian troops are constantly advancing towards Krahovy in Ukraine's Donetsk region. Recently, the Russians destroyed a dam and a thermal power plant there, but the occupiers are unstoppable and seek to take full control of the area.
Military expert Mikhail Zhirokhov spoke on Radio NV about the current situation in the city. In his opinion, the situation is constantly getting worse.
War in Ukraine. Fighting for Krachowe, the Russians may capture the city
Experts say the situation in Krakiv is very close to the point where “Ukrains will soon lose their city.” – (Russian – Editor) We are beginning to push our troops out of the heights of Krakhiu itself. The statistics are very sad. He said they must prepare for soldiers to withdraw from the city in the near future.
Russian forces are closing in on Ukrainian positions, but also continue to advance in some areas of the Donetsk region. – The Russian military advance is taking place near the town of Velika Novosilka. However, Mikhail Zhirokhov added that in Chasiv Yar and Tretsk, battles take place with varying degrees of success.
– Both cities are piles of stones, so it is very difficult to talk about (survived) districts. However, there are also directions in which our military is making progress. It all depends largely on the specific brigade, military experts explained.
War in Ukraine. Russians want to besiege Krahov
Russia's offensive against Donbass has been ongoing for a long time, and occupation forces have been targeting the capture of the town of Krahov for several months. Back in November, information emerged that the Russians were trying to besiege the city and thereby trap Ukrainians in so-called fire bags.
Speculation then began about the possible withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the region and when it would occur. Analysts and military officials estimate this could happen within weeks or months. Ivan Stupak, a former official of Ukraine's Security Service, claimed that Krahov would probably be surrounded by the Russians “by the end of this year” if the situation in the city did not change in Kiev's favor.
If this happens and the occupying forces intensify their attacks, Ukrainian soldiers will have to retreat from the city, as they did in Vledal.
