Michael Brooks has been appointed as Warner Bros. Discovery's (WBD) new general manager for Australia and New Zealand, while Nilesh Zaveri will join the company as CFO and COO for the Asia Pacific region.
Brooks' new role comes in addition to his current role as Managing Director, Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) Australia. He will report to both James Gibbons, President, WBD Asia Pacific, and Ronald Goes, President, WBITVP. In his new role, he will continue to run WBITVP Australia while also being responsible for overseeing all non-theatrical local businesses, including networks, streaming, content licensing, home entertainment, consumer products and gaming. WBITVP New Zealand will maintain its current reporting structure to WBITVP's headquarters in London.
In a memo to employees announcing Brooks' new role, Gibbons also revealed that APAC CEO Justin Emmer would be leaving the company at the end of the year. Zaveri was named SVP, CFO and COO of APAC, effective Sept. 9. He will report to international CFO Trey Turner. Zaveri was previously managing director of VICE Media's Asia Pacific operations.
