The opening of the new tram route to Vilanov means a big change for passengers who used to travel by bus. Some are closed, some are rerouted, and new roads are emerging.
On Tuesday, the first trams left Miastecsko Vilanov by 5 o'clock in the morning. Soon the president of Warsaw met with journalists there. He praised that the tram will allow residents to reach the center faster. He claimed that by bus they need half the time than before. Certainly, the travel time will not be optimal for now. Because the work on the roads and paths for cyclists, sidewalks and landscaping will continue until the second half of next year. When the works are completed and tram priority is introduced, the journey time between Srodmiescie and Vilanov is expected to be reduced to half an hour.
14 and 16 – the main tram lines to Miastecko Vilanov
The new route starts from Pulavska. The tram overcomes the 22-meter difference in level towards Dolny Mokotov along Govorka and Spaserova streets. Here some trains go straight along Gagarina street (line number 11), and most of them turn into Belvederska and then go through Sobieskiego street and Rzechpospolitey alley. The terminal for two-way trams is located at the junction with Branički.
Lines 14 and 16 will run on a new route and after the construction of the branch to Stegny (and the classic loop there) – line 19 in peak hours at the station a tram will appear every two minutes rush hour every three minutes and on weekends every four minutes.
In the end, there will be 30 trips on a common section during peak hours, giving six thousand seats on the trams. Number 16 has three thousand seats, and 1.5 thousand seats are provided in each row of 14 and 19: 522 thousand seats are provided in line 501 and 519, and 500 seats each.
The new line 16 runs from Miasteczko Vilanow to Belany (through the center, “Radoslava” roundabout, Joliborz to Piaski station). During peak hours, it runs every 4 minutes. Some of the routes end in the Muranovska region, where a new terminal has been built.

These two lines replace the closed line 35 in this section.
Finally, after the construction of the branch to Stegny, line 19 will be launched, the same route to the University of Technology as line 14, but further north along Aleja Jana Pavla II (the destination has not been determined yet).

Bus routes will be canceled or changed
With the advent of trams, bus lines 501, 520 and 200 will disappear.
Line 217 will remain, it will follow the unchanged route between the metro stations Wilanovska and Imielin, passing through Aleja Wilanovska, Aleja Reczypospolitej, Branickiego and from Sinamonova Street to the metro in Ursinów. It runs on all days of the week, approximately every 15 minutes.
The next two important lines for Miasteczko Wilanów are 163 and 319. Line 163 also runs every day of the week approximately every 15 minutes. Line 319 additionally departs every 30 minutes during peak hours and every 15 minutes during off-peak hours. Line 163 also takes the residents of Zavadi – not only to the subway, but also to the tram line. It also passes through Stegny.

ZTM also decided to extend line 164 (currently reaching Siekierki) along Wilanówska Avenue to the subway. It runs every 15 minutes during peak times and every 30 minutes during peak times.

At the request of passengers, line 263 works as a test local connection, among others, Zavadi residential complex with a loop in Vilanov
Line 164, which connects to the subway, will not enter Villanova so that the new line 263 provides this connection, which is important for schools and churches.
In Aleja Wilanovska, lines 251 and 519 continue from the direction of Poussin. Line 519 remains high-speed, but runs on a slightly different route and only reaches the Wilanovská subway. It passes some stations with less demand
Road 251ZTM
Both lines run from Poussin to Wilanówska Metro every 30 minutes and provide connections between Poussin, Wilanów and Wilanówska Metro every 15 minutes on all days of the week.
Some buses will run more frequently, the new route will be 130
Lines 139 and 239 to Poussin now run more every 30 minutes to Kabati metro station on all days of the week. In addition, lines 724, 742 and 710, which are already in operation, do not pass through the real estate, but run along Drewni Street directly to the Kabati metro station.

Line 519 goes to Poussin and line 251 from Constantin runs every 30 minutes, providing access to Villanow and the Wilanówska subway and the new tram line.
As for the area of Sadiba and Shtegien, the permanent line 131 going to the center has only minor adjustments in Chernyakov (buses arrive at Vislostrada earlier, near Torvar).
Line 108 runs from Statkowski, Gołkowska, Bonifacego to the Stegny loop, replacing the local connection previously used by line 164. It will be replaced by line 163, which operates with a higher frequency.
Line ZTM 108 route
– Since the work is still ongoing, the lines along ul. St. Bonifacego, on the stretch between Sobieskiego and Sikorskiego, currently runs in one direction and will remain so for some time, ruling out the possibility of running line 108 to the Stegna ring for the time being. Now it takes a detour until the job is done. Route 163 also runs a one-way route through Czarnomorska. These are temporary solutions – ZTM transport director Artur Zaich explained this a week ago.
There remains line 162, which runs every 15 minutes and provides access to Powisle Street and Czerniakowska Street.
– We proposed the launch of the new line 130, which will provide access to the residents of Benediktinska estate to Sobieskiego Street, Gorny Mokotov and Vilanovska metro station. It runs every 15 minutes during peak hours. It will provide the current connection to the tram line on Sobieskiego Street – described ZTM Transport Director Artur Zaich a few days ago.

For the residents of the area under the ski jump, there is access to the metro from the east with the long line 107 and from the north with the line 130, which runs along Idzikovskiye street.

As for Chernyakov, three new lines will be added to tram line 11 (14, 16 and finally – 19). Line 131 no longer goes through Gagarina Street, it goes through Powisle to Central Station, where it replaces line 517. – It will provide a connection between Siels station and Torvar, – added Zajac.
