The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage has announced a competition for the post of director of the Warsaw Ghetto Museum. Applications must be submitted by January 24, 2025, according to the ministry.

What competencies should a new director have?
The requirements that applicants must meet are: at least 5 years of work experience in cultural institutions, non-governmental organizations or entities in the field of culture and memory policy, and at least 3 years of work experience in a managerial position in public finance departments in the field of culture. and memory policies apply.
A candidate for the position of the director of the Warsaw Ghetto Museum must have a master's degree, know English to the level that allows for business contacts, and also know the rules of operation and financing of cultural institutions. He must also enjoy full public rights and have full legal capacity and have no criminal record for a willful crime prosecuted by public indictment or a willful financial crime.
According to the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the competition also takes into account: experience of at least 3 years in the management of a team of at least 30 people, knowledge of the specific nature of work in public and martyr museums, education and scientific achievements in one of the related fields. to the Warsaw Ghetto Museum. High interpersonal skills, as well as peaceful resolution of disputes and crisis management, documented cooperation in the field of cultural activities in a national or international forum, as well as postgraduate studies, courses and training in team/cultural institution/finance/project management are also welcome.
Documents must be submitted by January 24, 2025. The competition will end on February 23, 2025.
The museum was founded in 2018
The Warsaw Ghetto Museum was established in 2018 by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Its purpose is to spread knowledge about the daily life, survival strategies, struggle and extermination of Polish Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto and other ghettos in German-occupied Poland. The final location of the Warsaw Ghetto Museum is a complex of former children's hospitals. Berson and Bauman at ul. Sienna 60/Śliska 51, which is a unique witness of the history of Warsaw. Since 2018, the director of the facility is Albert Stankowski, a historian and former employee of the POLIN Museum.
