The head of the Ministry of National Defense, Vladyslav Kosniak-Kamys, announced that due to the situation in South Korea, there is no threat to the implementation of arms contracts with this country. South Korean President Jung Suk-jeol declared martial law, which the National Assembly voted to lift.
“We are monitoring the political situation in South Korea. We are in contact with our attaché in Seoul, as well as his Korean counterpart in Poland. We received assurances from Deputy Defense Minister Il on behalf of the Korean Ministry of Defense. It is said that our cooperation and the implementation of agreements weapons are in no way in danger,” Kosiniak-Kamysh said on the X (formerly Twitter) platform.
Last year, Poland and South Korea signed an agreement on disarmament, according to which the Korean side will supply our country with tanks, howitzers and fighter jets.
National assembly to abolish martial law
South Korean President Jun Suk-jeol declared martial law on Tuesday evening local time, accusing the opposition of sympathizing with North Korea and paralyzing the government.

Just over an hour later, the National Assembly voted to ask the president to end the state. According to the constitution, martial law must be lifted when a parliamentary majority demands it, Yonhap news agency explained.
In the plenum, a resolution on the abolition of martial law was adopted with the participation of 190 members, all of whom voted in favor of it. “After the adoption of this resolution, the decision to declare martial law is invalid,” said the office of the speaker of the National Assembly.
