The unusually warm weather of December is over. What can we expect in the run up to Christmas and the New Year? Check the long-term temperature forecast for 16 days prepared by tvnmeteo.pl presenter and forecaster Tomasz Wasilewski.
The first week of winter weather is spent in the presence of high pressure, which is now located over the Atlantic, near Spain. However, in the coming days, it will grow towards the east and settle over the center of the continent. Before the high pressure reaches this position, it will bring cold air to us from the north with the low pressure that will be over the Baltic Sea early in the week. This cooling wave continues further south and reaches the Mediterranean coast (see map).

Weather for 16 days. Weather for Christmas
The weather will be the coldest in the east of the country in the coming days and, therefore, during the holidays as well, with thermometers showing temperatures between 0 and 2 degrees Celsius. In Western Poland, the temperature will rise to 5-6 degrees.
Later, at the end of December and the beginning of January, the weather gets a little cold. In the east of the country, the weather will cool down to -2/-1 degrees, and it will sometimes be cold during the day. It will cool down to 3-4 degrees in the west. This weather will last until January 5, and then it may warm up a bit. The next 16-day temperature forecast is next Sunday.
