Ween are not touring until further notice, the band announced on social media today. “We had three amazing shows this summer, but it has become clear that touring and performing has taken too much of a toll on Diener's mental health,” the band wrote. A Chocolate and Cheese 30th anniversary show scheduled for next month in Philadelphia has been cancelled.
Ween announced the tour in January, with several shows scheduled for the following month. However, the April run of shows has been canceled. Dean Ween said in a statement at the time, “I've been blessed to spend most of my life doing what I love most… but now I need to take a step back from live performances to protect my mental and spiritual health and focus on myself and my loved ones. I know this will be disappointing and a huge inconvenience for many of you who had purchased tickets and made travel plans. I sincerely apologize. I look forward to returning to the stage with the enthusiasm, joy and renewed inspiration that my fans deserve and that I expect from myself when performing live.”
After the three early August shows mentioned in today's statement, their Seattle show scheduled for August 6th has been canceled. “We love performing for the best fans in the world and are extremely disappointed that these shows will not be possible,” they posted on social media the night before.
