As for the arrest of Marcin Romanovsky, the police have now exhausted their options across the country. This will be followed by specific international actions, said Justice Minister Adam Bodnar.
The Minister of Justice and the Prosecutor General will participate in the conference on Saturday in Gdańsk entitled “Solidarity Lawyers/Future Lawyers!” organized by the Ministry of Justice, the City of Gdańsk and the Center for European Solidarity.
After the ceremonial opening of the event, while talking to journalists, Bodnar was asked whether the failure to arrest the former deputy head of the Ministry of Justice, MP Marsin Romanovsky, was a suspect in the investigation of the Justice Fund. prosecutor's office.

– Please note that the legal basis for the deprivation of freedom of Mr. Marcin Romanovsky was created when the court issued its verdict on temporary arrest (on Monday – editor). Earlier, Mr. Romanovsky could not be deprived of his freedom, Bodnar emphasized.
According to Bodnar, “the fact that Marcin Romanovsky is hiding and does not want to appear in court is the best conclusion of the year of power.”
– If an investigative group was not formed to investigate everything related to the Justice Fund, it would be impossible. This would not have been possible without the courageous attitude of prosecutor Piotr Wozniak and his prosecutors. This would not have been possible if the parliamentary immunity and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe had not been revoked, and if there had not been a court decision on the application of pretrial detention. We cannot be responsible for the fact that in such a situation people hide and run away, and we do not know what will happen to them, – he noted about the Romanovsky incident.
The Minister of Justice assumed that further operations related to the arrest of Deputy Romanovsky will take a few days. – The police are now using their capabilities in the country, after which specific international operations will take place, – he noted.

Wanted on an arrest warrant
Romanovsky was wanted on an arrest warrant since Thursday. On Monday, the Warsaw-Mokotow District Court decided to put the politician in three-month detention as a suspect in the investigation of the Justice Fund.
Since Tuesday morning, the police searched the addresses where he could be in order to arrest the deputy. The Prosecutor's Office said that the PiS MP has not accessed the Internet since December 6 and does not use any number registered with his personal information.
The National Prosecutor's Office accuses Marcin Romanowski, who as a politician of the United Poland (and then the Sovereign Poland) was the deputy head of the Ministry of Justice in 2019-2023, of committing 11 crimes, including: participation in an organized criminal group and organizing contests to receive money from this fund. These crimes include, among others: “showing subordinate employees of organizations that should win in competitions to receive subsidies from the justice fund”.

Romanowski also allegedly ordered the correction of flawed proposals before they were submitted and allowed grants to be awarded to organizations that did not meet formal and material requirements. The indictment against Romanovsky also refers to the “establishment of suspected property in the form of money in the total amount of more than 107 million PLN and attempted embezzlement of money in the amount of more than 58 million PLN.”
