Fun fact: Allison Janney, who gave a fantastic performance as Juno's stepmother, was also great as a suburban Minnesota housewife in Drop Dead Gorgeous.

The Movie: Based on a thriller novel by Scott B. Smith, the film tells the story of an uneasy alliance that develops when three men (Bill Paxton, Billy Bob Thornton and Brent Briscoe) steal more than $4 million from a plane that crashes near their Delano home, killing the pilot.
Minnesota Features: Possibly the darkest film ever made out of Minnesota, it's a pessimistic portrayal of humanity, but it's also accurate in every detail: There's loads of snow (though the production team had to travel to Ashland, Wisconsin to find it), the isolated farmhouse is authentic, and you can see the actors' breathing when they talk outdoors (which is not the case in the winter scenes in “Juno”).
Truth: Some Minnesotans are probably stupid enough to steal from very unscrupulous people, but would they be stupid enough to sit around and wait months to get caught?
Interesting accent? Not really anything that stands out.
