Our favorite Olympic superstar, Simone Biles, has been getting a lot of attention on social media following her gold medal win for Team USA. Simone Biles and her husband, Jonathan Owens, have been the epitome of a sports power couple since they got married in April 2023.
Ten-time Olympic medalist Biles and NFL safety Owens are basically a couple that combines beauty and athleticism, so it's no wonder fans of the couple are curious to see what baby Biles will be like — like, say, doing backflips and catching passes out of the womb.
However, recently, rumors that Simone Biles is pregnant started trending on the Internet along with the hashtag “Simone Biles Baby”. The couple have publicly stated that they plan to have a family in the future. However, there has been no pregnancy announcement and Biles is not expecting a baby anytime soon.
Before her Olympic gold medal quest, Simone Biles had a tough upbringing: She spent over three years in foster care before being adopted by her grandparents, Ronald and Nellie Biles, at the age of 6. After finding a stable home in Texas, Simone discovered gymnastics and went on to become one of the sport's greatest athletes.
“I've been so blessed with everything God has given me and all the tools in life,” Simone told USA Today in 2021. “I never wanted to know who my biological father was, and I never wanted to have a really close relationship with my biological mother, which I'm sure my mother would have wanted, but the card that I was dealt was that I never felt the need to go back to my biological father, which is very different from a lot of (adopted) kids, because they feel kind of empty, and I didn't feel that way.”
While Simone's family may be more complicated than some, she can count on the support of a few select relatives who have helped her achieve her Olympic dreams. To find out about Simone's relatives, keep reading.
Little is known about Simone's biological father, Kelvin, but her mother has already been public about her decision to give her children up for adoption.
“It was hard to let my kids go, but I had to do what I had to do. I couldn't take care of them,” Shannon Biles told the Daily Mail in a 2016 interview.
After three years in foster care, Simone was legally adopted by her grandparents, Ronald and Nelly, at the age of 6. When Ronald and Nelly adopted Simone and her sister, Adria Biles, the family moved to Houston, where the Olympian's passion for gymnastics began.
Simone had been attending lessons and receiving support from her family since visiting a gymnasium on a nursery school field trip at age 6. Her abilities were far from average.
