The social insurance institution has launched a calculator where you can calculate the approximate amount of joint benefits, that is, the pension of the spouse after the death of your spouse and your personal benefit, – reported the regional representative of ZUS in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Karol Jagelsky.
Last year, the Sejm adopted a regulation that introduced the pension for widows. According to this act, widows and widowers can receive full salary and 15% pension. self-interest or vice versa.
New calculator
Jagelsky said the calculator suggests which payment option would be most beneficial.
The tool is available on the ZUS website. The factory emphasized that the results are “reports and cannot be the basis for any claims”.

Applications from January
The application for the so-called widow’s pension can be requested from January 1, 2025. There is a survey on the ZUS website that helps the interested person to determine whether he is entitled to it or not.
Payment of benefits during the preparatory period will begin on July 1, 2025.
However, from January 1, 2027, the second benefit will be increased from 15 to 25 percent. ZUS emphasizes that this option will also be available to those who are entitled to a pre-retirement allowance or allowance, a cash pension, a teacher’s compensation allowance or a training pension.
