Michigan football is getting a boost in recruiting after successfully signing four-star cornerback Jaeden Sanders from Texas. Sanders was a big addition at a position of need, and Michigan's momentum will only grow because the Wolverines have a huge advantage in recruiting quality players at another position of need: wide receiver.
Andrew Marsh, a top 100 wide receiver out of the University of Texas, is set to announce his commitment on August 20. Marsh will choose between Texas, USC, Washington, Colorado and Michigan. Currently, Michigan football has all of Marsh's projections locked down, and Marsh just visited Ann Arbor for a barbecue at the Big House.
Coach Ron Bellamy has made Marsh his top priority at wide receiver this summer, and Marsh has responded very well to the call, visiting Michigan multiple times this summer.
Landing a top-100 wide receiver would be a big gain for the Wolverines, as they have generally struggled to land wide receivers under coach Jim Harbaugh (except for the 2017 class). Elite wide receivers are extremely hard to land, especially in the NIL era. This would be a big win for Michigan and Ron Bellamy.
At this point, it would be a shocker if Marsh chooses a school other than Michigan. All signs point to the Wolverines, and they would be thrilled to have him visit in late July. There are no guarantees in the NIL era, and a team desperate for an elite receiver could offer very attractive money that would be hard to turn down.
But the Wolverines have become more competitive in that department and are making sure their freshmen are taken care of. Marsh seems to have a heart for Michigan, and while the Longhorns can't be ignored as a contender for the Texas recruit, this acquisition would be a big win for Michigan football.
Next. Next. Michigan game-by-game projections for 2024. Dark.
Marsh is projected to be the fifth top 100 recruit in Michigan State's 2025 incoming class, currently ranked 14th in the country with 16 prospects. Sherone Moore and the entire staff continue to work hard on the recruiting trail. Stay tuned for the latest updates. Go Blue.
