The Polish women's national soccer team defeated the Austrian national team and qualified for the European Championship with a 1-0 victory. The success of the soccer players is the first advancement in the history of this game in our country.
The Austrian players had to recognize the superiority of the Polish women in the rematch of the European Championship play-off final. Ewa Pajor's winning goal secured the spot for the Polish players.

The meeting in Vienna aroused great emotion from the beginning. Expectations were high for the Polish players after winning the first play-off leg in Gdańsk, but they proved that pressure motivates them.
Our opponents were demanding and were no worse than our players who pressed hard from the first minutes. The first half ended scoreless, but Natalia Padilla-Vidas was close to scoring.

When the players took to the pitch after the break, the game was very intense and everyone on the pitch knew that their place in the tournament was at stake. Our goalkeeper was almost brought down by Lili Piurscherer, but his shot was extremely close to the target.
Even though the referee called for overtime, the result remained unchanged. He was immediately influenced by Eva Pajor. The captain of the Polish team put the ball into the opponent's net in a spectacular way. This goal resulted in a historic promotion for the Polish women and an equally historic defeat for the Austrians. Despite appearing in the last three finals, they had to say goodbye at the European Championships.

Fans did not hide their elation, and Polish politicians also congratulated Poland's winner. Donald Tusk wrote on his social media about the “historic” promotion to the euro.
