Beth Heath and Freya Kemp have both been selected in England's squad for the Women's T20 World Cup in the UAE in October.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Heath and all-rounder Kemp are taking part in the tournament for the first time, while Daniel Gibson, who was a reserve player when England reached the semi-final in South Africa last year, has also been included in the full 15-man squad.
Opening batsman Tammy Beaumont and seamer Kate Cross, who was part of the South African squad, are among those who missed out on selection, but manager John Lewis insists the door is open to any players who don't make the cut.
England Women's T20 World Cup Team
Heather Knight (Captain), Lauren Bell, Maia Bouchet, Alice Capsey, Charlie Dean, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Daniel Gibson, Sarah Glenn, Beth Heath, Amy Jones, Freya Kemp, Nat Sciver Brunt, Lindsay Smith, Danny Wyatt.
“It makes it incredibly difficult and challenging to select a team or squad with these players,” Lewis said.
“Unfortunately there are some players who missed out but they will play a big part in what England cricket does in the future.”
“I believe the 15 players selected make up a very well-balanced team in terms of experience, youth and above all the skills to handle and excel in the situations they will likely face in the UAE.”
Lindsay Smith, who returned to the England squad earlier this year, will be part of the team's spin bowling attack alongside Sophie Ecclestone, the tournament's top wicket-taker in 2023.
Sky Sports' Charlotte Edwards and Catherine Sciver Brunt predict England's squad for the opening match of the T20 World Cup.
Powerful batsman Heath and Kemp, the women's leading wicket-taker in The Hundred this year, will join England on their white-ball tour of Ireland and play one-day internationals in preparation for the tournament before taking part in a pre-World Cup training camp in Abu Dhabi from September 13-24.
This year's World Cup has been moved from Bangladesh to the UAE due to political unrest, and will kick off with England facing Bangladesh on October 5. England, led by coach Heather Knight, will also face South Africa, Scotland and the West Indies in Group B.
“The World Cup is a special event to be involved in as a player and I'm really excited about the team I've selected to travel to the UAE,” Knight said.
“It will be an honour to lead the team to another World Cup and I look forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
