According to the portal, this will be the 50th title match since 1886 and the first time that both Asians will face each other. It will also be the first time in the tournament's 138 years that there will be no European representative.

The Liren vs. Donmaraju match will consist of 14 rounds and will last until December 12th unless one of the rivals scores 7.5 points first. Rest days after each three-round series were scheduled for November 28th, December 2nd, 6th, and 10th. If the result is a draw, overtime will be played on December 13th to determine the winner.
