Wyze is making it easier to find out which cat knocked over your planter while you were away: As spotted by GeekWire, the company is testing a new AI search feature for Cam Unlimited subscribers that lets you search for footage using keywords rather than scrolling through all recorded events.
This feature lets you search for things that may be visible on the camera, like “truck” or “delivery man.” You can also add more detail to your search by typing things like “show me the cat in the backyard” or “woman under an umbrella,” and Wyze will use AI to surface relevant scenes.
However, Wyze points out that the feature isn't perfect and can “occasionally produce choppy results.” Still, it could save you the trouble of having to rewind footage or search through all the activity your camera captured.
It would be nice to see this feature coming to other smart cameras, and it appears companies are working on it: Earlier this month, Google announced it was bringing Gemini to its Home app, letting you search for events in Nest camera footage, while Ring CEO Liz Hamren told GeekWire that the company is preparing to release a similar feature.
