Elon Musk says that his AI Venture Xai has acquired his X social media platform, formerly known as Twitter.
In an X Post Friday, Musk said that the All-Stock transaction values XAI at $ 80 billion and X at $ 33 billion.
Musk paid $ 44 billion for Twitter in 2022.
“The future of Xai and X are intertwined,” Musk wrote to X on Friday. “Today, we are officially doing the measure to combine data, models, calculation, distribution and talent.”
This decision can aim to protect investors, who helped him buy the X purchase, to lose money.
X and XAI both have private times and share certain important investors. They also share important resources.
“The combined company will offer smarter and more significant experiences to billions of people while remaining faithful to our central mission to seek the truth and to advance knowledge,” Musk wrote.
XAI used data from publications on social networks on X to train its models, and its Grok chatbot is a leading characteristic on the platform.
“This decision seems reasonable, given the current trend of increased investments in AI, data centers and IT,” said analyst Paolo Pescatore, founder of PP Foresight.
