A fire broke out early Wednesday at Camping World on Route 356 in Allegheny Township, damaging or destroying more than a dozen recreational vehicles.
The fire, which was reported just after 4:30 a.m., is under investigation by state police fire marshals, said Allegheny Township Police Chief Dan Ankafer, who said 15 vehicles were involved in the blaze.
Neighbors reported hearing explosions during the fire, and Ankafer said it was likely a propane tank in a vehicle exploded during the blaze.
Ankafer said the fire started in a parking lot behind the store's main building and that no one was injured. None of the damaged vehicles were visible from Route 356. He said video of the fire is available and will be reviewed by investigators. No employees were in the store at the time.
Ten area fire departments responded to the blaze.
